About 50 people were at the Sunday morning worship service at Rowethorpe Uniting Church on 15 May, to celebrate the day of Pentecost, together with holy communion and two adult baptisms. Many of the congregation wore red in special recognition of Pentecost.
Those being baptised were Margaret Bawden and Evelyn Hughes, who had both been attending our Services for some years. The worship service, which included the baptisms as well as holy communion, was conducted by our minister, Rev Dr Alison Longworth. She was assisted by two Elders, Joy Kay and Joan Drysdale.
Rowethorpe congregation have had several baptisms in past years (great grandchildren, of course), but this is the first time we can remember having any adult baptisms.
