It goes against all our senses to be good to those who persecute us and openly unfair in their dealings with us. Despite the view that ‘an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind’, with the state the world is in today, it seems many have reckoned their eyesight not very important when it comes to defending what they believe to be rightfully theirs. Rev Dr Chris Walker writes an insightful piece on the meaning of sacrifice. What is most interesting, is the discussion about a higher level of sacrifice that Jesus showed in his dying on the cross. With all the odds against him, he was not overcome by evil, but he overcame evil with good.
